Akame ga Kill! Characters

The full cast guide — every key character, their role, abilities, and place in the story.

Akame ga Kill! is set in an Empire that has rotted from the top. Its boy Emperor trusts Prime Minister Honest completely, and Honest uses that trust to enrich himself while the country starves. The cast splits along the line of a coming revolution. On one side is Night Raid, a small band of assassins working for the Revolutionary Army, which Tatsumi joins after his first days in the Capital show him what the Empire really is: Akame, Leone, Mine, Sheele, Lubbock and Bulat under their leader Najenda, later joined by Chelsea and Susanoo. On the other side are the Empire's enforcers, above all General Esdeath and the Jaegers she leads, among them Akame's sister Kurome, Wave, Bols, Run and Seryu of the Imperial Police. Almost everyone carries an Imperial Arms, and since two users who fight are said never to both survive, every clash is dangerous. Several of the people on the Empire's side are decent and believe they are protecting it, which makes the war harder for everyone. This guide covers the 24-episode TV anime, not the manga's later chapters or the spin-offs.
