Daily Anime Quiz — Guess the Character

What the Daily Anime Quiz is

The Daily Anime Quiz is a once-a-day guessing game: you get three clues about a single anime character and try to name them in as few clues as possible. A new character goes live at 00:00 UTC and every player worldwide gets the same one, so the score you post is directly comparable to everyone else playing that day.

It is deliberately short. A full quiz on this site runs 50 questions across ten levels; this is the opposite — two minutes, one character, one shot at it. It exists for the days you want the hit of recognising someone from a vague hint without committing to a proper run.

How to play

  1. 1
    Read the first clue

The opening clue is intentionally broad — usually a trait, a role, or something about the world rather than a name or series. Guessing correctly from clue one is worth the most.

  2. 2
    Guess, or take another clue

If nothing comes to mind, reveal the second clue. It narrows things considerably, often naming the series or a signature ability. The third is close to a giveaway.

  3. 3
    Lock in your answer

Fewer clues used means a higher score. There is no penalty for thinking — the number of clues is what scores you here, not the clock.

  4. 4
    Come back tomorrow

Playing on consecutive days builds a streak that carries across every game on the site, including Anime Connect and the full quizzes.

Tips that actually help

Read the first clue for what it rules OUT

Broad clues are more useful in reverse. A clue mentioning a school setting eliminates most battle shonen; one about a crew or a bounty points squarely at a handful of shows. Narrowing the universe beats trying to name someone cold.

Do not over-index on the most famous character

A clue that fits Naruto Uzumaki usually also fits three other protagonists with the same underdog arc. If a clue feels like it obviously describes the single most famous character in anime, it is often describing someone adjacent to them.

Series first, character second

It is almost always easier to identify the show from a clue than the person. Once you have the series the cast is small enough to work through, and clue sets point at main cast rather than deep cuts.

Guess on clue two if you are torn

Scoring rewards fewer clues, but a wrong answer on clue one is worth nothing at all. If you are choosing between two characters, the second clue almost always separates them.

Frequently asked questions

Is the daily quiz the same for everyone?

Yes. One character is selected per day and every player worldwide gets the same one, which is what makes comparing results meaningful. It resets at 00:00 UTC.

Do I need an account?

No. You can play every day without signing up. A free account only adds streaks saved across devices and a place on the leaderboard.

What happens if I miss a day?

Your streak resets. Streaks are shared across every game here, so playing Anime Connect or any full quiz that day keeps it alive too.

Which anime do the characters come from?

All 31 series covered on this site, weighted toward better-known casts so the game stays gettable. Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, Demon Slayer and Death Note characters appear more often than deep cuts.

How is my score calculated?

By how many clues you needed. Naming the character on the first clue scores highest, and the score steps down with each additional clue revealed.
