Dr. Stone Characters

The full cast guide — every key character, their role, abilities, and place in the story.

Dr. Stone begins 3,700 years after a green flash turned almost every human to stone, in a Japan where cities have crumbled away and forest has taken over. The cast splits into two kinds of people. The modern humans, such as Senku, Taiju, Tsukasa and Gen, were alive in 2019 and are revived from stone, scarred where the petrification cracked. The people of Ishigami Village, such as Chrome, Kohaku and Suika, were born in the Stone World: descendants of six astronauts who were aboard the International Space Station when the flash hit, one of whom was Senku's father. Most of the drama comes from what each side brings. Senku's Kingdom of Science wants to revive everyone and rebuild all of science, and Tsukasa's Empire of Might wants a new world for the young with the old one's corruption left behind. Later arcs add the Petrification Kingdom on Treasure Island and a rival American colony led by another scientist. This guide covers TMS Entertainment's four seasons and the Ryusui special, which adapt the whole of Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi's manga.
