Anime Chat Rooms
Talk anime with fans from all over the world, live. Pick a name and jump in, no account needed.
Free anime chat rooms, made for fans
This is where AnimeQuiz players hang out between quizzes. Ask what to watch next, argue about who would win, react to this week’s episode or show off a score, with real people, in real time. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for: choose the name other fans will see and start typing.
AnimeQuiz is built by anime fans for anime fans, and many of the quizzes on it were added because someone asked for them. The chat is the place to say what we should make next.
The channels
Seven public channels are always open. Fans can add their own next to them, public or private.
- #general
The public lobby. Say hi, talk about anything anime.
- #quiz-scores
Post your scores, brag a little, and dare others to beat them.
- #recommendations
Looking for what to watch next? Ask here, or share a favourite.
- #currently-airing
This season’s episodes. Hide spoilers like this.
- #theories
Fan theories, power scaling, who would win. Spoilers go in spoiler tags.
- #find-a-room
Looking for people to play a multiplayer room with? Post your room code.
- #feature-requests
What should AnimeQuiz build next? The site is shaped by these.
How it works
- Pick a name. Any name, as a guest or signed in. You can change it whenever you like.
- Choose a channel from the list and say hi. You see new messages the moment they are sent, and who else is in the channel right now.
- Reply, react and mention. Reply to a message to quote it, react with an emoji, and type @name to get someone’s attention.
- Hide spoilers by wrapping them in two bars, like ||this||. They stay blurred until somebody taps them.
- Get notified. Leave your email under “Get notified if someone replies” and we will tell you when the conversation moves on.
- Make your own channel. Signed-in members can create public channels for a series or a topic, or private ones for a group of friends, and invite people with a link.
Chat rules
- Be kind. Disagree about anime as much as you like, never about people.
- Put spoilers in spoiler tags, especially in #currently-airing.
- No links to other sites, no advertising, no spam.
- Do not share personal details such as your address, phone number or other accounts.
- See something wrong? Report it. Messages reported by several people disappear at once.
Questions
Is the chat free?
Yes. Every channel is free, like everything else on AnimeQuiz.
Do I need an account to chat?
No. Pick a name and you can post straight away as a guest. An AnimeQuiz account adds a member badge next to your name and lets you create channels of your own.
Can I make a private chat for my friends?
Yes. Sign in, press “Create a channel”, choose Private, then share the invite link or add friends by their AnimeQuiz username. Only members can see a private channel.
How do notifications work?
Press “Get notified if someone replies” at the top of a channel and leave your email. After you confirm it, we write when the channel has new messages, at most once an hour, and sooner when someone replies to you. Every email has a link to stop them.
Is the chat moderated?
Names and messages go through a language filter, links to other sites are blocked, and anyone can report a message: one reported by several people is hidden straight away.
What else can I play here?
Fifty-question anime quizzes, which-character-are-you tests and multiplayer rooms where you race friends through the same questions. Post your room code in #find-a-room to fill it.
