Bleach Quiz

Ichigo Kurosaki gains Soul Reaper powers and battles Hollows, Arrancars, and Quincy to protect the living and the dead.

About Bleach

Bleach, created by Tite Kubo, follows Ichigo Kurosaki, a hot-headed teenager who has always been able to see ghosts. When the Soul Reaper (Shinigami) Rukia Kuchiki is wounded protecting his family from a monstrous corrupted spirit called a Hollow, she transfers her powers to Ichigo — thrusting him into a hidden world of the dead. As a substitute Soul Reaper, Ichigo must purify Hollows and guide lost souls, all while balancing an increasingly dangerous double life.

The series expands from a monster-of-the-week premise into sweeping arcs: a daring rescue mission into the Soul Society, an all-out war against the traitorous Sōsuke Aizen and his Arrancar army in Hueco Mundo, and finally the apocalyptic Thousand-Year Blood War against the Quincy emperor Yhwach. Famous for Kubo's stylish character designs, zanpakutō sword spirits, and the iconic power-up known as Bankai, Bleach stands alongside Naruto and One Piece as one of shōnen's 'Big Three.'

What the Bleach Quiz Tests

The Bleach quiz covers zanpakutō and their Shikai/Bankai releases, the captains of the Gotei 13, the Hollow-Arrancar-Espada hierarchy, and the Quincy powers of the final arc. Easy questions cover Ichigo, Rukia, and basic Soul Reaper lore; harder ones test captain abilities, Espada rankings, and the twists of the Thousand-Year Blood War.

Key Characters

Ichigo's journey is shaped by allies like Rukia, the fiery Renji Abarai, and the noble captain Byakuya Kuchiki, while the series' greatest villain — the endlessly scheming Aizen — remains one of anime's most iconic antagonists. The final arc pits everyone against Yhwach and his Quincy. Take the 'Which Bleach Character Are You?' quiz to find your match among the Soul Reapers.

Bleach Fun Facts

  • Tite Kubo is celebrated for his fashion-forward character designs, and he even pens short poems that open many manga volumes.
  • A Soul Reaper's zanpakutō has a spirit and a name; learning that name unlocks Shikai, and mastering it unlocks the far more powerful Bankai.
  • Aizen's mid-series reveal — removing his glasses and slicking back his hair — is one of anime's most famous villain turns.
  • After ending in 2012, the anime returned a decade later to finally adapt the Thousand-Year Blood War, the manga's final arc.
  • The word 'Bleach' was chosen partly because the Soul Reapers' work involves 'cleansing' souls, not for any character named Bleach.

The Bleach quiz is one of the more finishable ones. 20.1% of 303 attempts go the distance — roughly 2.0× the 9.9% site average. Fans of this series tend to know it deeply.

The average score is 16,783 but the median is only 8,343 — a wide gap, which means a small group of very strong runs is pulling the average up while most attempts end early. Judge yourself against the median, not the mean.

Ranked by completion rate, Bleach is the 24th hardest of the 26 quizzes with enough recorded plays to rank. Players get an average of 5.4 levels in before running out of lives, and the longest correct-answer streak anyone has managed on it is 50.

Bleach Quiz — Frequently Asked Questions

How many episodes of Bleach are there?

The original Bleach anime ran for 366 episodes. The final arc, the Thousand-Year Blood War, is being animated separately as a modern multi-part continuation, so the total continues to grow.

Does Bleach have a lot of filler?

Yes — the original run is notorious for filler, with roughly 45% of episodes being anime-original. Filler-skip guides are popular for trimming Bleach down to its canon storyline; the newer Thousand-Year Blood War episodes, by contrast, have essentially no filler.

What order should I watch Bleach in?

Watch the original 366-episode series first (optionally skipping filler arcs), then the Thousand-Year Blood War continuation, which picks up the manga's final arc. Everything is chronological, so no jumping around is required.

Is Bleach finished?

The manga is complete, and the anime is finishing the story through the Thousand-Year Blood War adaptation. Once that concludes, the entire Bleach saga will be watchable from start to finish.
