About Chainsaw Man
Chainsaw Man, created by Tatsuki Fujimoto, follows Denji, a dirt-poor teenager crushed under a debt he inherited, scraping by as an unlicensed devil hunter with only his chainsaw-dog devil, Pochita, for company. When Denji is betrayed and killed, Pochita revives him by becoming his heart — granting Denji the ability to transform into Chainsaw Man, a devil-human hybrid with blades erupting from his arms and head via a pull-cord in his chest. He's soon recruited into the government's Public Safety Devil Hunters under the mysterious, magnetic Makima.
In Chainsaw Man's world, devils are born from human fears, and the more a concept is feared, the stronger its devil becomes — making entities like the Gun Devil apocalyptic threats. What makes the series stand out is its collision of ultraviolent, cinematic action with Denji's heartbreakingly simple wants: food, a warm bed, and human affection. Fujimoto's chaotic, film-influenced storytelling and MAPPA's 2022 anime turned it into one of the most talked-about titles of its generation.
What the Chainsaw Man Quiz Tests
The Chainsaw Man quiz tests devils and their contracts (the Blood, Fox, Curse, and Future devils), the fear-equals-power rule, the Public Safety hierarchy, and Denji's transformations. Easy questions cover Denji, Power, and Pochita; harder ones dig into Makima's true nature, the Gun Devil, and the darker turns of the Public Safety arc.
Key Characters
Denji's blunt, appetite-driven personality plays off the chaotic Blood Devil Power and the stoic, grief-stricken Aki Hayakawa, forming an unlikely found family. Overseeing them is Makima, whose calm control hides the series' biggest mystery. Loyal Pochita quietly anchors Denji's humanity. Take the 'Which Chainsaw Man Character Are You?' quiz to see who you'd be in Public Safety.

- Pochita, Denji's chainsaw-dog, is far more significant than he first appears — his identity ties into the series' deepest lore.

- The manga is split into two parts, with Part 2 shifting perspective to a new protagonist while Denji's story continues.
How players actually score on the Chainsaw Man quiz
From 128 recorded attempts at this quiz, part of 14,110 sessions across the site. Updated periodically from live gameplay — these are our own figures and are not published anywhere else.
The Chainsaw Man quiz is one of the more finishable ones. 15.6% of 128 attempts go the distance — roughly 1.6× the 9.9% site average. Fans of this series tend to know it deeply.
The average score is 13,183 but the median is only 6,362 — a wide gap, which means a small group of very strong runs is pulling the average up while most attempts end early. Judge yourself against the median, not the mean.
Ranked by completion rate, Chainsaw Man is the 21st hardest of the 26 quizzes with enough recorded plays to rank. Players get an average of 4.9 levels in before running out of lives, and the longest correct-answer streak anyone has managed on it is 50.

Chainsaw Man Quiz — Frequently Asked Questions
How many episodes of Chainsaw Man are there?
The first season of the Chainsaw Man anime has 12 episodes, adapting the opening arcs of Part 1. A feature film, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, continues the story on the big screen.
Does Chainsaw Man have filler?
No. The anime is a faithful, tightly-paced adaptation of Fujimoto's manga with no filler, so you can watch it straight through without skipping anything.
Is Makima a villain?
Makima is the central mystery of Part 1, and her true identity and goals reframe much of the story. Without spoiling it, she is far more than the composed handler she appears to be — untangling exactly what she is drives our hardest Chainsaw Man questions.
Do I need to read the manga to enjoy the anime?
Not at all. The anime starts from the beginning, so it's fully newcomer-friendly. The manga simply continues past where the anime currently is, into the events of the Reze Arc and beyond.
